Roșca Winery

Estate wines from the Roșca family: 74 hectares across three terroirs in Moldova and Bessarabia. We gave them a near-black, serif-led site that opens on an age gate and reads like a magazine, not a brochure.

The brief

A family estate, finally findable

Roșca is a two-generation Moldovan winery: Oleg Roșca and his son Dionisie work 74 hectares of vineyards across three terroirs in Moldova and Bessarabia. The wines existed; an estate presence that matched them did not. Search for the name and you found distributor listings and scattered social pages, never the family or the land behind the bottle.

The site is built around a single idea: Măsura pământului, the measure of the land. It opens on a legal age gate, then walks visitors through the wines, the three vineyards, and the two people who run them. Romanian leads, English follows, because the audience is Moldovan and Romanian wine lovers first.

Design direction

Near-black, serif, and quiet

Most wine sites split into two failure modes: stock-photo corporate, or over-styled heritage pastiche. We went the other way: restraint as the whole point.

The palette is a single near-black ground (#0B0E0A) with ivory type and one warm amber accent reserved for the moments that matter. Large serif headlines carry the voice; a mono micro-type marks the section labels. Everything fades and rises on scroll, slowly, so the photography and the names of the wines get the room instead of the interface.

What the site holds

The wines, the land, the family

The wines lead with the Helgi range and the whites (Riesling de Rhein, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc), alongside Rose Memoirs by Stella, the house rosé named for the family. Each wine gets its own moment rather than a crowded grid.

From there the site lays out the three vineyards (Brătuleni in the centre, Ghetlova in the Codru forests, and Babele on Lake Ialpug) so visitors can read the geographic spread that gives one estate its range. Two generations close it out: Oleg Roșca, the founder, and Dionisie Roșca, who carries it forward. A named, visible family operation, not a logo with a story bolted on.
